Family of murder victims say witnesses need to speak up

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The families of the 14 people murdered in January alone are now part of a tragic fraternity of grief.

The Friday killing of 22-month old Aiden McClendon brings back heartbreaking memories for another local family.

In the summer of 2013, 14-year-old Megan Simmons and her best friend, 13-year-old Jazmine Shelton were having a sleepover when they were killed in a drive by

Megan’s aunt Neta Sessions said the violence is worse than ever

"I'm very disgusted. I grew up in this city my whole life and I'm ashamed to say I live here because there's so much crime afraid for my two children to grow up here," Sessions said.

Jasmine and Megan’s killers were never brought to justice. Sessions said their deaths and others like Aiden's can be solved if witnesses would just speak up.
