JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Fionn MacCool’s Restaurant and Pub at The Jacksonville Landing closed its doors for the final time on Saturday night.
Action News Jax first reported on May 1 that businesses were being evicted and received 30-day notices to pack up and go.

At the beginning of Saturday, MacCool’s and Hooters stood alone as the last two restaurants open for business at the Landing.
We’ve asked the City of Jacksonville for copies of their settlement agreements, and are still waiting.
Joe Snowberger and Craig Bernat tell Action News Jax they were at MacCool's when it opened about eight years ago.
“Bitter and sweet,” said Snowberger. “Bitter that something you’re comfortable with and bitter that something that’s beautiful and a relationship you’ve built is coming to an end. But sweet and excited because change for this town is nothing but good.”
“Here tonight they’re closing, but where’s everybody at? No one’s here and that’s a problem I see,” Bernat said.

Those who did make it to MacCool’s final closing took in the live music, and took advantage of the green beer specials.
General Manager Paul Glaser said he’s feeling a range of emotions.
“Oh you know, there’s sadness. It’s kind of the end of an era. You know?” he said.
Management said staff members will take new positions at the Ponte Vedra location.
