Report: Man arrested at Jacksonville airport accused of possessing 50 pounds of marijuana

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was arrested at the Jacksonville International Airport on suspicion of possessing over 25 pounds of marijuana, according to a report.

Christian Castro, of California, was arrested Wednesday night on charges of traffic in marijuana (excess of 25 pounds), possession of over 20 grams of marijuana, smuggle marijuana into the state and possession of marijuana with intent to sell, according to the report.

A DEA agent advised the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office that they would need a narcotics detection K9 around 6 p.m., the arrest report detailed.

The agent said the subject was traveling from California to Jacksonville via Southwest Airlines.

K9 Ace conducted a luggage line up sniff and alerted to a green suitcase, the report said.

Castro was taken to the Duval County Jail without incident and the contraband was seized by the DEA.
