Thousands of dollars have been raised for two Columbia County sheriff's deputies who lost their home in a fire 2 days before Christmas.
Deputies Gary and D’Andra Cole and their 7-year-old son lost their home and all of their belongings in the fire on Friday.
Lake City police said the deputies watched as their home, personal belongings and all of their Christmas gifts burned.
A spokesperson with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Almost $5,000 had been raised for the family in less than a day on a Gofundme page.
The Lake City Police Department shared its support for the family on Facebook.
The department is asking anyone who can help the family to call the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
