Georgia officials offer reward up to $10,000 for information about apartment fire

Georgia authorities are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information about a fire in Ware County that destroyed an apartment complex unit in January.

Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said Thursday that the reward is being offered after a fire on Jan. 20 destroyed a unit at the Central Park apartment complex.

State Fire Marshal’s Office investigators, the Waycross Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives believe that the fire was intentionally set.

Four families were displaced by the fire and no injuries were reported. There was approximately $250,000 worth of damage.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the arson hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Rewards of up to $10,000 are offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire.

Callers can remain anonymous.
