Officials continue to search for his mother Linda Mansfield's body after she was reported missing May 23.

The grand jury's 14-count indictment says Rosevelt unlawfully and with malice caused the death of his mother, concealed her death and destroyed evidence by cleaning up blood and other bodily fluids from her home.

He's also accused of threatening to kill her with the intent to terrorize her, according to the indictment.

It says he also lied to police and stole five checks and a 2012 Honda Civic from her.

Neighbors said Mansfield and her son had a complicated relationship and often fought.

Police said Mansfield canceled her credit card days before she disappeared. She complained that her son was stealing from her.

A case worker from adult protective services said she last heard from Mansfield on May 17 and went to her home to follow up on her complaint.

When she got to the home, Mansfield’s son said she had gone to Savannah with a friend, but didn’t have any other information.

Mansfield’s case worker called her bank and was told her son Roosevelt had written several checks to himself since May 17. Rosevelt was arrested for forgery before he was indicted for Mansfield's murder.
