Jacksonville doctor: New erectile dysfunction treatment eliminates the need for pills, surgery

A non-invasive technique is helping men in the bedroom who suffer from erectile dysfunction. A local doctor said this is the first treatment in Jacksonville that eliminates the use of pills or surgery.

Dr. Earl Eye, M.D., FACCP is the Medical Director at Cenegenics Jacksonville and he said this procedure stimulates the growth of new blood vessels.

“Here’s a natural way to go back to where you were,” Eye said.

This new erectile dysfunction treatment known as GAINSWave is unlike any other product. Eye believes this will allow men to throw away that little blue pill and stop the injections.

“This instrument is designed to deliver a shock wave, not a sound wave, a shock wave and a shock wave can penetrate one to three centimeters deep and it causes good effects,” Eye said.

This procedure uses high-frequency pulsating sound waves to open up blood vessels to stimulate cells and improve blood flow which improves sexual function. Eye said good blood flow is essential to erectile function. As you get older, he states the blood vessels that supply blood begin to close up and decay. When these blood vessels become clogged, much the same way as the buildup of plaque in coronary arteries can lead to heart disease, the constricted blood vessels in the penis lead to erectile dysfunction.

“The fact that things are not standing up tells us that there is an inadequate blood flow,” Eye said.

Eye said the gently pulsating waves of the GAINSWave promote increased blood flow by opening existing blood vessels and stimulating the growth of new blood vessels. He describes it as these waves are “waking up” cells and promoting growth factors.

Eye said that many patients say to him, “this makes them feel like a real guy again.”

Each treatment takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Eye recommends having between three to twelve procedures to improve blood flow in that area.

He recommends two treatments per week and over three weeks that would cost $3,000. If some needs more sessions, he recommends 12 treatments over 6 weeks costing $5,000.
