JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An "observant police officer" located a missing man and child early on Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The officer spotted the vehicle described in the missing persons report and conducted a traffic stop.

The two were first reported missing at 6:42 p.m. on Friday, May 10.
The mother of the child told police that she last saw the man and child in the area of New Berlin Road and Starratt Road. The adult male told her that he was taking the child to the Oceanway Community Park, and that they would return after.
