JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a woman over the weekend.
Police arrested 24-year-old Kameron Holmes in connection with the murder of Bria Kelsey, 23.
The woman was found shot dead in a car Saturday night on Normandy Boulevard, with their 3-year-old son in the car. The child was not harmed, officials said. Holmes initially told police that white man in a Honda shot Kelsey. But, he later admitted to police that he and Kelsey were fighting and he shot her, Jacksonville police said.
People in the community who knew Bria Kelsey are mourning her death.
“Bria was a wonderful employee," said McDonald's owner. "She worked for me for four years, and was recently promoted to shift manager. She had a bright career ahead of her, and our whole McDonald’s family is very saddened by this tragic situation."
Moreland also said that Bria was dedicated to her work and most importantly to her young son, who was everything to her.
