Update: Local boy, woman recovering after drive-by shootings
A 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg and a woman was grazed by a bullet in two drive-by shootings at two parks 2 miles apart in Northwest Jacksonville on Tuesday night.
Police were called around 7:30 p.m. to Charles Clark Park.
The boy was sitting on the bench when a blue car started firing out the window. The boy ran to the swimming pool and was taken to the hospital, police said.
Shortly after, at nearby Yancey Park, a T-ball game was going on when a 30-year-old woman was grazed by a bullet in another drive-by shooting.
Police believe the two incidents are connected and that it's possible there was more than one person shooting from the vehicle, believed to be a blue Buick.
