A juvenile humpback whale was spotted spreading its flippers off the coast of Jacksonville Beach in February.
The whale was photographed approximately one nautical mile off Jacksonville Beach on Feb. 11.
The humpback whale is an endangered species.

When fully grown, the whales can grow up to 50 feet long.
They are known for their long pectoral fins, which can reach up to 15 feet in length.
