Deano Eliam

Deano Deangelo Eliam, 25, was found guilty as charged Friday of carjacking, the Florida State Attorney's Office said.

In Jan. 2014, a female was leaving a grocery store when Eliam approached her and threatened to kill her if she didn’t take him to her car, State Attorney's Office said.

As Eliam got into the victim’s car, the victim managed to run away to get help. Eliam then fled the scene in the victim’s car.

Eliam faces up to 30 years in prison as a prison release reoffender and will be sentenced in July.
