Man stabbed overnight critically injured

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an overnight stabbing that injured a man on Jacksonville's Westside.

According to Jay Farhat with JSO, officers responded around 11 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of 110th and Catoma streets, near Timucuan Elementary School.

Two men were in a verbal and physical altercation when one them pulls out a pocket knife in self-defense and stabbed the other man, JSO said.

The victim is at UF Health in critical condition.  including a stab wound to the torso.

JSO has a man in custody and says he is cooperating.
