She died waiting for justice. Jessie "Denise" Green, mother of a local music minister who was murdered in Grand Park, has died after a battle with cancer.
Green was being treated for the disease when her 22-year-old son Jerry Brown was shot and killed while parked outside of his aunt's home in January.
In April, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the community came together to surprise Green with gifts, including a car and a home makeover.
Green's family said she and her son Jerry were best friends.
As the family grieves from this loss, they are still pushing for justice.
