Many students around the nation will walk out of class Wednesday morning, exactly one month after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Below is a list of things you should know regarding the walkout:
1. What is National Walkout Day?
March 14 has been deemed National Walkout Day. Students, teachers and school staff are welcomed to walk out of schools to bring awareness to gun violence and to honor the lives lost in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

2. Will students be disciplined?

Student will not be disciplined and they will not be marked tardy as long ad they follow the rules of their schools. Locally, Duval, St. Johns, Putnam and Nassau County are accommodating the walkout.

3. How long will it last?
The walkout will be held for 17 minutes to honor the 17 people that were killed in the Feb. 14 school shooting. It is scheduled to begin nationally at 10.a.m.
