Report: Teens stole $18,000 in Kate Spade bags in St. Augustine

A group of teens stole $18,000 worth in purses at a Kate Spade store at the St. Augustine Outlets.

The reported theft happened on Dec. 31 at the retail store. The store manager said a mob of teenagers ran into the store and stole 46 purses.

She said the teens then ran out into the parking lot and reportedly left in a Toyota Corolla with Florida tag HHSI36. She said she took a picture of the car before it fled.

An employee said she saw about 8 teenagers flee from the store with the bags. The report said that one of the teens ran out of the store without her shoes.

The report said there was no surveillance video.

Deputies said the Florida Highway Patrol tried to stop the vehicle on I-95 southbound in Flagler County.
