Suspect in 14-year-old's murder transferred to Jacksonville

A man accused of killing a teenage girl and hurting three adults in a shooting in Jacksonville was booked at the Duval County Jail on Thursday.
Bryan Goggins, 24, was arrested on Monday after officers tracked him to Tallahassee.

Tamia Sanders, 14, was killed in the shooting on West 38th Street on Aug. 12, a few days before she would have started her freshman year of high school.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Goggins fired into the group of people after an argument between Goggin's mother and another person.

Witnesses said Goggin's mother Luwanda Mack, who was known to get drunk and start arguments, was drinking nearby when she got into a fight with someone.

Witnesses said Mack called her son, who showed up in a black SUV.
He got out of the car, started shooting and then drove off in the car, according to witnesses.
Officers spoke with Mack and Byron Goggins, one of her sons, the day after the shooting.
Mack said she was at her sister's house on the night of the shooting and got into an argument.
Mack said she called her older son Byron Goggins and told him about the argument.
A few minutes later, she said she saw her other son, Bryan Goggins Jr., drive up in an SUV with her Byron Goggins in the passenger seat.
Bryan Goggins Jr. asked Mack who she was arguing with and she told him the person wasn’t in the area.
Mack said she saw Byron Goggins arguing with a woman then she heard a gunshot.
She said she immediately got in her car and left.
Mack said Bryan later called her and said that he shot the victims because he thought they were disrespecting her.
She said Bryan told her to lie and say he was in Texas at the time of the shooting and that he was not worried about people identifying him because they didn’t know his name.
Byron Goggins told police he got to the area and Bryan was already driving up and down the street.
He said he got out of the car and saw Bryan point a gun and begin shooting.
Byron said he and Bryan then drove away in their vehicles. Byron said he never had a gun and never shot anyone, police said.
A victim identified Bryan Goggins as the person who shot her in a photo spread.
One of the adults who was shot suffered life-threatening injuries. The other two adults were in stable condition after the shooting.
