Truck gets stuck in water on Jacksonville Beach

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — A driver could get a citation for backing a truck onto the beach and getting stuck on Monday.

Action News Jax has learned that truck wasn't supposed to be on the shoreline.

A sign on the beach at 16th Avenue South says "no driving on the beach," but the truck went right into the sand and then got stuck.

Water rushed around the truck as people tried to help get the truck out while also snapping a few pictures. Beach goers said the truck was stuck there for about an hour.

"We're on 16th Street we're about 100 yards south and the truck was stuck in water three quarters away of tires apparently he was trying to take out a couple jet skis it got stuck and I guess the tide came up and before he knew it he was in trouble," said witness Steve Strawley.

Lifeguards said they went by to help but didn't have the equipment to pull the truck out. They said no one was hurt.
