275 marijuana plants discovered in Ocala warehouse

Ocala, FL — A power theft investigation led to the discovery of 275 marijuana plants, Ocala police say.

Investigators found out Clay Electric was looking into an irregularity in service to a large metal building on NE 90th Street.

When they showed up there Tuesday, they say no one came to the door but they could smell raw marijuana. They got a search warrant.

275 marijuana plants were seized. And two men found inside the building were arrested on several charges including marijuana cultivation and trafficking.

Once inside, agents uncovered a “sophisticated marijuana-growing operation.”

Agents of the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team conducted the investigation. UDEST is comprised of local, state and federal law enforcement officials.
