U.S.A. — An Air Force veteran has an incredible mission.

Jerry Meadows’ goal is to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Jerry is walking all the way from Minnesota -- with his oxygen tank in hand -- to the organization’s headquarters right here in Jacksonville.

Jerry is using the nearly 1,700 mile walk to help show veterans that the organization is there to help.

Many veterans need help when they come back home from serving, and the Wounded Warrior Project helps with that.

The walk isn’t easy -- Meadows has had a triple bypass surgery, ten cardiac stints, and an enlarged heart. But he says the walk is bigger than him.

"It’s rough, its rough. What gets me through it, is I can think about what our veterans went through and things like that and all of a sudden, it gets a little easier,” Meadows said.

His wife, Virginia is following him on his walk in their van.

Right now, they’re in Illinois -- and plan to arrive in Jacksonville by September or October.
