Jacksonville, FL. — Keep those extra masks in your car.
Tuesday, a spokesperson for the City of Jacksonville told WOKV that the city plans to extend the Duval County mask mandate again and they will continue to extend the mandate unless otherwise announced. The current order was set to expire at 5PM Tuesday.
We reported back in late June when this mandate was first implemented in the county due to the pandemic.
The new order is expected to be extended for another 30 days.
The order states everyone who’s six or older in a public space must wear a face covering when social distancing isn’t an option. There are exceptions like for people with a disability that prevents them from wearing a face mask and for first responders since their requirements are governed by their agencies. The order covers all of Duval County including the beaches and Baldwin.
