The FDLE began investigating Classey Sept. 18 after getting information from Homeland Security Investigations. HSI apparently intercepted a package from India. The package contained controlled substances, according to FDLE, and had been delivered to Classey at a post office box in Jacksonville.
Classey went to the store to retrieve that package, along with another one. One package contained Xanax (Alprazolam) and the other contained injectable steroids, according to FDLE investigators.

Agents searched Classey's home in Jacksonville and found large quantities of various steroids, Codeine, Xanax, and syringes.
Investigators also recovered a computer from a trash container. Classey, according to investigators, told his son to throw the computer away.
Classey turned himself in Tuesday and was booked into the Duval County jail on $136,063 bond. He resigned as police chief of Atlantic Beach on Sept. 23 amid the investigation.
