JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Armada Football Club defeated the Philadelphia Union, 3-1, in the team's inaugural match onSaturday afternoon at EverBank Field.
Jacksonville Armada FC has been building towards opening day for over a year and a half after the North American Soccer League awarded the team with a franchise.

Just under 14,000 fans packed into EverBank field to support the team in its first match.
The attendance total sets a league record for a pre-season matchup.

The match is just one of two games to be played at EverBank. The remaining games will be played at the baseball grounds, which hold about 9,000 fans.
More than 5,000 season tickets have been sold so far, and sales numbers continue to rise.
