JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CVS Pharmacy chains in Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Flagler Beach are the latest stores to offer COVID-19 vaccines.
Appointments filled up within an hour of being available.
The current eligibility at CVS Pharmacies in Florida are:
- People age 65+
- Teachers K-12, Daycare and preschool workers, and staff
- Health care workers, EMS
- Age 16+ with a signed Determination of Extreme Vulnerability Form
- Age 50+ Sworn law enforcement officers and firefighters
CVS, Walmart, and Publix pharmacies are all vaccinating teachers and school personnel of any age. This follow’s the recent change to the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program to make teachers a priority.
The state’s executive order is currently focusing on educators 50 years and older, residents 65 and older and anyone deemed medically vulnerable by a doctor. However, at four new federal sites in Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Miami, teachers and school personnel of any age can also get the vaccine.
