JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is dead after a driver hit her and kept going near a busy intersection on Jacksonville's Northside.
Now, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office still needs your help finding the driver.
It happened Saturday night on New Kings Road (U.S. 1) and Edgewood Avenue.
TRENDING:
Action News Jax Courtney Cole spoke to a neighbor who works near the business, who describes the area as dangerous for drivers and pedestrians.
"I call it death row, because just last year we had about four to five hit-and-runs right down the street, right here on US-1," said Warren Baker.
Baker told Action News Jax Courtney Cole he worked at Jenkins Quality Barbecue for 21 years.
And the intersection of New Kings Road and Edgewood, and the area around it, have been problematic for as long as he can remember.
"You're going to have accidents everywhere. But this intersection is one of the busiest intersections you have on the Northside," Baker said.
On Saturday night, JSO says a woman was hit and killed near the intersection.
Baker told Cole he's not sure if the lady was from the community or not, but says there are a couple of people who walk the area at night, regularly.

"From what everybody is saying, it was pretty awful, it was pretty awful," said Baker.
Baker told Cole the woman was trying to cross the street near the McDonald's drive-thru.
Cole checked the three businesses on the corner that had surveillance cameras.
The Chevron gas station was the only one with a camera that at least captured police responding to the incident.
Cole reached out to JSO to learn the identity of the victim and more information about the suspect's car, but they told her they don't have any new information to share at this time.
Cole also reached out to FHP to learn how many hit-and-run incidents have happened at or near this intersection in the last year.
