It’s been 29 years since the body of 26-year-old Teryl Orcutt was found in a wooded area of Clay County.

Her killer has never been caught. Today, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media, asking for the public's help

In January 1990, Orcutt’s red car was found on the side of County Road 218 in Middleburg, still running. Inside was her purse, and a spilled drink. Her prescription glasses were on the ground outside her car.

“It’s like you’re in a dream, and you can’t wake up from it and you wanna wake up and her be in her room (or) whatever,” said Cheryl Turner, Orcutt's older sister. Turner said the mystery of who killed her sister so many years ago has loomed over their family.

A week later, her body was found in a wooded area. She had been stabbed to death.

Their mother died never knowing who killed Orcutt, and Turner who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, fears the same will happen to her.

“My mom, my older brother both passed away not knowing and, if I don’t beat this, I’ll be in the same shoes,” she said.

Rumors swirled that an officer had pulled the 26-year-old over, but the Clay County Sheriffs Office said all of its officers were accounted for that day.

Orcutt's ex-husband and boyfriend were cleared as suspects.

The case has now  been cold for close to 30 years. Turner is only left with the memories of her sister.

“I promised my mom we would push and push until we found out or get some reason why if we could find out why they murdered her," Turner said.
