Travel + Leisure has named 2 of the towns in Northeast Florida among the 10 best in the state

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The small beach towns of St. Augustine and Fernandina have been recognized as a great travel destination by an internationally recognized travel publication!

The Travel and Leisure publication took into account small towns, “with populations of 17,000 or less.”

With all of hustle and bustle in Florida, it’s no wonder the small town charm tends to get overlooked!

St. Augustine Beach

St. Augustine Beach was recognized for its locally owned cafes and restaurants that give it the perfect small-town-by-the-ocean atmosphere.

The publication raved about the beach and the Pier! Visitors were told to “Stroll or relax along the sand, cool off at the Splash Park, play sand volleyball, or check out the latest catch at the fishing pier,” and the praised the many local surf shops.

Fernandina Beach

Fernandina Beach was recognized for its laid back vibe and its proximity to the greater Jacksonville area. The publication said, “beloved for its boutique shops, restaurants, and thriving wildlife. To top it off, visitors can enjoy 13 miles of quiet beaches.”
