POMONA PARK, Fla. — A 16-year-old girl died early Sunday morning when she was accidentally shot by another 16-year-old who was playing with a shotgun in her home.
Deputy Mark Henry with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said Ezequiel Torres was picked up by friends after sneaking out of his house around 3 a.m. Sunday.
After arriving at Raynie Michelle-Marie Dettmann’s house, police say Torres retrieved a shotgun and reportedly pointed the gun playfully at two people.
While pointing the gun at Dettman, police say Torres pulled the trigger, discharged a single shot and struck Dettman in her upper body.
