JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An 18-year-old is dead following a shooting inside a Westside home.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said around 9:15 a.m., patrol officers and first responders were dispatched to a residence on Cumbria Blvd, located in the Dinsmore area.
An 18-year-old male was found shot. The young victim was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, according to JSO.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police believe there was an altercation inside the home between the suspect and the victim just prior to the shooting.
Officers say all witnesses to the shooting are being questioned and a suspect has been taken into custody.
