2 men sought in man's death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for two suspects wanted for the murder of a local man.

JSO Crime Scene Units investigated at a mobile home at 5900 Normandy Boulevard well into Monday morning, spending more than nine straight hours at the scene.

Antonio Gonzalez said the victim is his brother-in-law, Theodoro Rico.

"I need justice," Antonio Gonzalez said. "We need justice for this. Things can't be like that, like nothing happened."

Antonio Gonzalez said two people shot and killed Theodoro Rico.

"He tried to defend himself but one of the black guys had a gun and shot him three times, once in the chest and two in his arm," Antonio Gonzalez said.

According to Antonio Gonzalez, Theodoro Rico is survived by his wife, Maria Gonzalez, and his two children, 7-year-old Elizabeth Rico and 2-year-old Carlos Rico.

"His wife is really hurt," Antonio Gonzalez said. " The kids, they're OK, but they're still going to feel it, not having their dad with them."

Officers said the suspects are 22 and 25 years old and both have dread locks. One was seen wearing a basketball jersey.

Residents told Action News two men matching that description are responsible for at least another other robbery in Normandy Estates. Antonio Gonzalez says he has seen them before.

"They're here all the time, all the time," Antonio Gonzalez said.
