JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Losing a child is something no parent is ever prepared to deal with.
On Thursday, the grandmother of 2-year-old Aden Martez said she was forced to face that horrible reality when he got out of the house, jumped into her backyard pool and drowned.
During that time they visited Disney and even greeted Aden's father after he returned from being deployed.

Aden’s grandmother told Action News Jax her grandson and his brother had been visiting her from New York for the past few weeks.

On Thursday, within a matter of minutes, their quality time spent became a memory.
Now Aden’s grandmother is encouraging parents to get their children swim lessons as early as possible to prevent a horrible tragedy like this from happening.
