What do you need to bring to vote in Georgia?

Georgia law mandates that voters present photo identification to cast a ballot in person. Acceptable forms of ID include a Georgia driver’s license, whether active or expired, a state or federal government-issued photo ID card, a current U.S. passport, a current U.S. military photo ID, a valid tribal photo ID, a current employee photo ID from any government or state entity, or a student photo ID from a Georgia public technical school, college, or university. Voters who lack identification may cast a provisional ballot.

How do you turn in absentee Ballots in Georgia?

Absentee ballots must be received by county election offices by the close of Election Day, whether delivered by mail or in person to the county registrar. Registered voters with a disability may have a household member deliver their absentee ballot on their behalf. Additionally, every county maintains at least one indoor drop box accessible to voters during standard business hours.

What do the amendment questions on the ballot mean?

Voters are also weighing three proposed state constitutional amendments.

Amendment 1 would raise the limit for acreage eligible for a tax exemption for timber producers and farmers from 2,000 acres to 4,000 acres.

Amendment 2 would require all Georgia probate court judges to be selected through nonpartisan contests without party labels displayed on the ballot. Probate court judges in Georgia oversee duties including marriage licenses, wills, firearms licenses and estates.

Amendment 3 would authorize the Georgia state legislature to create a dedicated “next generation 911 fund.” If approved by voters, the amendment would designate funds exclusively for operating, maintaining and expanding state 911 services, including infrastructure upgrades for next-generation 911 systems.
