GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Three people were arrested in connection to a meth lab in Gainesville.
Two Gainesville Police officers went to an apartment at the Sundowne Villas to follow up on previous meth lab search warrants.

The officers reported smelling a strong odor of ammonia and saw a box fan ventilating the single front window.
A suspect, 25-year-old Heath Williams, walked up to the officers outside while they waited for backup. The Gainesville Police Department said Williams was high on crystal meth.

When additional officers arrived, two suspects were found inside the apartment. GPD said Sean Dixon, 27, was found in the kitchen cooking crystal meth. Denis Tyree, 38, was also found in the apartment.
GPD said Dixon and Tryee were under the influence of meth.

Officers found three pots for cooking, multiple precursor ingredients used in the manufacture of meth, needles and more, said GPD. Inside the apartment, officers also reportedly found about 2g of meth in Dixon’s backpack.
Williams is charged with possession of meth with intent to sell, possession of drug equipment and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
