ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Three employees at Sebastian Middle School are being recommended for termination.
It all comes after an incident involving an eighth-grade student which district leaders are calling “alleged aggressive behavior.”
The employees are suspended with pay and we learned from the school district that the three employees are being recommended for termination -- a matter that will go before the full school board on October 13.
According to the St. Johns County School District, the three employees are physical education teachers Jarrod Branco and Robert O’Shell and school dean Pete Sharman.
The letters recommending their termination say this all stems from an incident on Sept. 16, where they allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior during an interaction with a student in the school cafeteria.

Action News Jax went to Sharman’s home to get his side of the story but no one came to the door. He did write “I in know way agree with any of the above” on the letter recommending his termination -- using the wrong ‘no’ on the document.
Action News Jax spoke with a parent whose son goes to Sebastian, while his school undergoes renovations. She said she learned of the incident because of Action News Jax.
"It irks my nerves beyond belief right now just thinking about it because that could've been my child, my nephew -- that could've been any kid that I know," said Maylea Greene, a parent.
The district won't confirm exactly what happened in the lunchroom but parents with kids at the school and a source close to the student's family say the child's arm is broken.
The employees have 15 days to file a grievance if they wish to. On Oct. 13 the school board will decide whether the three employees should be fired.
