JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three teenagers are facing charges after a fight during a pep rally at Ribault High School.
Action News Jax first reported on video of that fight on Friday.
A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy have already been arrested and Duval County Public Schools said a 17-year-old girl's arrest will happen soon.
The assistant principal shown in the video was not at work Monday as he's recovering from his injuries. School leaders say they're taking swift action following the fight on campus on Friday.
The school district is also increasing security at Ribault this week because of that fight.
The fight happened at the end of the homecoming pep rally. School leaders say the assistant principal was trying to stop a disruption and that's when three students ended up fighting and throwing him down the bleachers.
Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested and a 17-year-old girl is expected to be arrested as well.
Superintendent Dr. Patricia Willis spoke Monday about the incident and their investigation.
"We want to make sure the message is clear this is not business as usual in Duval County Public Schools," Willis said.
The school said the three students involved and others could face discipline, per the student code of conduct.
