A Jacksonville man was killed Friday night just before midnight as he walked north along Main Street at Kirk Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers later located the abandoned truck nearby after a search of the area, FHP said.
According to FHP, 35 yr-old Richard Allen Wilson, Jr. of Jacksonville was struck and killed around 11:40 p.m. Friday night after a dark blue 2014 Ford F150 ran off the roadway, striking Wilson, who died at the scene.
The driver of the truck did not stop, FHP said, instead the truck continued traveling north up Main Street.
Charges are pending, FHP said.
