5-foot shark caught off St. Augustine Beach coast

A shark was caught and released Sunday along the shores of St. Augustine Beach.

The video of the shark, that's up to 5 feet long, was taken Sunday at around noon.

There have been previous incidents of people coming across sharks in the Jacksonville area. A teenager surfing at Hanna Park was bit by a shark. He had to get 50 stitches.

A woman from Putnam who was surfing at St. Augustine Beach had her foot bitten by a shark.

Recently, OCEARCH  located a Tiger shark named off Jacksonville's coast on April 17. You can find out how many sharks are near our coast by tracking them on OCEARCH's Global Shark Tracker.
