6th annual Mckenzie's Run held Saturday at EverBank Field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Thousands of runners gathered at Everbank Field Saturday for the 6th annual Mckenzie's Run.

The race honor's 15-year-old Mckenzie Wilson, who died unexpectedly in 2010.

Jags head coach Gus Bradley kicked off the event from inside the stadium.

Organizers tell us they started with 2,000 runners in 2010 and participation has now doubled to 4,000 runners in 2015.

Mckenzie was such a bright light in so many people’s lives and everyone is so bright today. I just see Mckenzie in everyone’s face,” said Tori Pappas.

Action News Jax is a proud sponsor of the event. Several employees from Action News Jax were among the thousands that participated in the event.

All money raised Saturday goes to the Mckenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation to help young people in the Jacksonville area.
