JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, four women were injured by gunfire Wednesday night during a confrontation in Magnolia Gardens that stemmed from a dispute involving a romantic relationship.
Investigators said a large group had gathered at the location to fight over the unspecified romantic relationship before shots were fired.
All four women were transported to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victims are 17, 20, 22, and 47 years old, police said.
JSO identified three Black men as persons of interest in the case.
Authorities said the men were seen wearing dark clothing and medical masks and fled the area in a silver SUV following the shooting. The vehicle was last observed near the intersection of Begonia Road and Wisteria Street.
Police said calls about the incident came in around 6 p.m. and that investigators believe at least 15 people were present when gunfire erupted.
Officials emphasized that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The sheriff’s office said it is seeking to question the three men believed to be connected to the shooting and is asking anyone with additional information to contact JSO at 904-630-0500.
