JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Arlington was one of the hardest hit areas. Action News learned there is still major work still to be done.
Driving through the area, we saw plenty of tarps serving as makeshift roofs and lots of downed trees that now look like rows of firewood.
What a difference a week can make for Alijha McGowan and her family. Crews used chainsaws to clear tree debris off the top of her home.

Tuesday, McGowan showed us the cleanup progress.
"Her tree fell and some of ours fell. As you can see, most of ours that one is rotten. There is a pretty big hole in the middle," McGowan said.
Now a big blue tarp serves as a makeshift roof where the branches hit.
"It also cracked the main support beam, it's more than just a little patching," she said.
Inside her home are more reminders of last week's storm, especially in her daughter Kinley's room.
A tree narrowly hit Kinley's crib. Luckily, McGowan and Kinley were not home during the storm.
But now there's another challenge; another wet night is in the forecast Tuesday.
"It's tarped up pretty well and I have hopes they'll start contracting next week," she said. "The weather hasn't been ideal for sure."
