A tweet made by Atlantic Beach police chief Michelle Cook has gone viral.

The post stated that any officer who cannot run toward gunfire should quit now.

The post received more than a 1,000 retweets and likes.

The tweet is in response to the armed security resource officer, Scot Peterson, and other Broward County deputies who were reportedly outside and did not enter Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting on Feb. 14.

Seventeen people were killed in the mass shooting.
