ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 16-year-old boy Tuesday from St. Augustine.
A passerby called the police department and reported seeing a white male lying on the side of SR 312.

Officers and Fire and Rescue crews found the 16-year-old boy. Officers said believe that he was struck by a vehicle and left there.
Police are not sure when the crash happened, as the victim was apparently lying there for a while before being discovered.
Authorities have not identified the victim, but the family told Action News Jax that he is Dalton Kuhn.

Evidence found at the scene is believed to be from a 2003 to 2007 Silverado or Sierra, authorities said.
The St. Augustine Police Department released a photo of truck similar to the one that officers are looking for in connection with the incident.
The truck is described as a 2003 to 2007 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra that is missing a black passenger side mirror. It could also have additional damage on the right-hand side, police said.
