A Jacksonville roofing contractor is being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from people without doing any repairs.

As we head into the busiest time of the storm season, the Better Business Bureau is warning people about the company, Revive Restoration.

The location that the owner of Revive Restoration gives out to customers, 2890 University Blvd W., has been closed down.

Even the BBB can’t figure out where it’s operating from because the owner won’t tell them.

"Give us our money back so we can get our roof done," Nassau County customer Kym Pye said.

Nearly seven months after Pye said she hired Revive Restoration to fix her roof that was damaged by Hurricane Matthew, nothing has been repaired.

"They put us on the schedule several times, never showed up, never called, made excuses that they were backed up,” Pye said.

And she said she never got the insurance check back that she signed over for nearly $5,000 after several calls to the company and hiring an attorney.

"That's a lot of money. We still haven't got a roof because they have most of the money we need to get it done," Pye said.

Pye isn’t alone. The BBB said nine customers filed complaints in a two-month period.

"It’s a very short period of time to have such serious complaints about a business," BBB communications coordinator Shannon Nelson said.

Most of the complaints are similar. People said they’re paying for roofing repairs that never get done.

The BBB has given the business an F rating and notified the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, which regulates owner Jeremy Holloway’s license.

"If he continually takes money and not doing the work, that is a big issue," Nelson said.

Action News Jax tried to call Revive Restoration, but got a recording that said the number was temporarily unavailable.

Action News Jax also went to Holloway’s home twice to get his side of the story, but no one ever answered.

"If he's doing this to a lot of people, that's a lot of money he's putting in his pocket," Pye said.

The BBB said that some customers got refunded, but not all.

And according to the BBB, when looking for a roof contractor, take your time, do the research, compare estimates and try to pay with a credit card if possible.
