Boat of missing Florida teens' found off Bermuda coast

TEQUESTA, Fla. — The boat carrying two Florida teens who were lost at sea last summer appears to have been found, according to the parents of one of the boys.

The 19-foot Seacraft boat was discovered by a passing vessel about 100 miles off the coast of Bermuda.

It still contained some personal items including an iPhone that belonged to one of the teens, according to the parents of Perry Cohen.

Perry and his friend Austin Stephano, both 14,  went missing July 24, 2015 after leaving the Jupiter Inlet.

The boat was spotted days later off the coast of New Smyrna Beach but it was gone when the Coast Guard returned to tow it in.

Perry's parents say all of the items recovered from the boat have been turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The boat itself is expected to be brought back to South Florida by mid-May.

The search effort for the boys spanned more than a week and covered the coastline from Jupiter to South Carolina.

A private searched, funded by donations to the families, was called off more than a week later.

The family is hoping that information on the iPhone or the boat will lead to more clues about where the boys were and what happened.
