Boat Parade Road Closures

Heading downtown to watch Saturday's boat parade? The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office wants you to know about some event-related road closures. Sections of the Acosta and Main Street Bridges will be closed in advance to prepare for the 2015 Community First Jacksonville Light Boat Parade & Holiday Fireworks Spectacular.

One northbound lane and the northbound sidewalk on the Acosta Bridge are closed until after the fireworks have been cleared (4-5 hours post show.) The bridge will be completedly closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic from approximately 8:30pm to 9:30pm or when the fireworks display ends. JSO advises to use the Fuller Warren Bridge or the Hart Bridge to enter into downtown during these times.

On the Main Street Bridge, one northbound lane and the northbound sidewalk will be closed from 4pm until after the fireworks have been cleared (4-5 hours post show.) The bridge will be completely closed to pedestrians and vehicles from 6:45pm to 9:30pm --or when the fireworks display ends.

The boat parade starts at 7pm and can be viewed along the downtown riverfront (north and south banks.) Immediately following the light parade will be the Holiday Fireworks Spectacular. For more information on both of these events visit this website.
