BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The city of Brunswick’s Downtown Development Authority was selected to receive a $750,000 federal grant through the National Park Service, officials said in a news release.
Called the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant, the funding will help create the Brunswick 255th Anniversary Revitalization Grant Program, a local subgrant program designed to preserve and improve historic commercial in the city.
Eligible owners of historic commercial properties can apply for subgrants up to $50,000, with a 10% applicant match required.
Funding will prioritize physical preservation, structural rehabilitation, weatherproofing, long-term resilience, and accessibility improvements.
“Receiving this $750,000 is a transformative win for Brunswick,” said Mathew Hill, Executive Director at the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority.
“(The program) will help reduce financial barriers for property owners, preserve our historic commercial buildings, and strengthen the resilience of our historic commercial districts.”
The authority will release detailed application guidelines, official eligibility criteria, and launch timelines in the coming months, officials said.
