Cash Drop: Armored car vs. semi results in money bags spilled on I-95 north in St. Johns County

Highway cameras show the crash, which appears to involve a spill of bags from an armored vehicle about 2:30 p.m. just north of the Flagler County line

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A crash involving a semi and and an armored car carrying money appeared to leave bags of cash on I-95 north in St. Johns County just north of the Flager County line.

The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m., before rush hour. St. Johns County Fire Rescue, the St. Johns Sheriff’s Office responded to the second.

Several large cloth bags were piled up in or near the eastside shoulder of the highway.

Traffic continued to flow in at least two lanes on the westside of I-95 north.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s deputies were directing traffic, waving drivers past the scene.
