JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The southern end of Chaffee Road where it connects to SR-23 will close at 1 a.m. Sunday.
Traffic will detour to Normandy Blvd as a new road, Samaritan Way is paved.
Samaritan Way will be the connection between Chaffee Road to 103rd St. to form part of the "First Coast Expressway."
When construction is complete, the south end of Chaffee will connect to Samaritan Way to access 103rd St. There will be no direct access from Chaffee Road to the new toll SR-23.
This construction on the Westside is expected to take two or three weeks.
