JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Cars came and went from Clark's Fish Camp this weekend.

The Julington Creek restaurant was closed Friday and Saturday due to flooding caused by several inches of rain in the area this week.

Chris Brodecki was one of the disappointed customers who left Clark's with an empty stomach.

"I saw a couple of cars back there and I thought, ‘They are really busy tonight,’ and then it was flooded so no gator tonight," Brodecki said.

Fridays are usually the busiest nights for the restaurant, which has been in business for more than 40 years.

Ethan Peoples’ family has owned Clark's since 1974. Peoples said they have flood insurance, but it doesn't cover everything.

“That's a big hit to us, especially with all the food and stuff. We have to throw everything out. The cost of doing business," Peoples said.

Peoples said he doesn’t know how long the restaurant will be closed.

“Mother Nature is up to that, we can't, we don't know,” Peoples said.

Meanwhile, the family-owned restaurant is losing some hungry customers.

"So, plan B, right? You got any suggestions," Brodecki said.
