Clay County Fire Rescue responds to minor fire at Humane Society

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Clay County Fire Rescue responded Tuesday night to a minor fire at the Clay County Humane Society.

The call came in at 5:06 p.m., CCFR said. Fire was not visible from the outside of the building at 2230 Filmore St. in Orange Park.

Smoke was coming from the air conditioning and the executive director turned off the breakers as soon as she smelled smoke, according to Clay County Humane Society spokesperson Michelle Gilliam.

Since the Humane Society is not a shelter, the building was not housing any animals at the time. No people or animals were injured.
